It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure they maintain all minimum qualifications and continuing education requirements appropriate for their position. Training attendance must be reported promptly to the Executive Director, who will record the hours of training and place a copy of any training certificate if issued, in the employee’s personnel file.
Training will also be provided by the agency periodically. These trainings will also be counted towards each employee’s hiring requirements.
Every employee is required to maintain 15 hours of new not repeat training each year as required by the DCYF contract with JHV. Employees will be compensated for the time spent in a classroom training but proof of the training documentation must be provided in order to be compensated.
Online training is an acceptable form of training but is not compensated as is a classroom training. No mileage or travel time to attend a training is compensated. Document these items for your own records as they may be used as employment tax write offs for the tax year.
