Video Visitation enables non-custodial parents to overcome barriers to in-person visitation, such as the child’s location or limits of a court-ordered visit plan, or to have more contact with their children, maximizing the bond between parent and child. These can be scheduled on a regular or ad-hoc basis, such as when the child desires to talk to the other parent. Video visitation can add tremendous value to your parenting plan when used appropriately. Examples of how to generate the value from your video visits include:
- Helping with homework or a special project
- Reading a bedtime story to a young child
- Sharing a special event, such as showing a lost tooth or a special award
- Allowing the parent to view sporting events, musical performances, and other events while they are happening
- Allowing the parent and child to see each other on holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions
JHV utilizes the professional version of Zoom, which facilitates longer visits and offers better security and control to ensure the safety of all parties involved. The Visiting Parent, Children, and Visit Monitor enter a secure Zoom meeting controlled by the visit supervision staff and offered by invitation only.
